WebSpore started the way a lot of good ideas do — out of frustration. I needed a website built, paid someone to do it, and wasn't happy with the result. So I did what any stubborn person would do: I taught myself how to do it properly.
That was nearly ten years ago. Since then I've been building websites on and off, picking up skills, learning what works and — just as importantly — what doesn't. Everything I know is self-taught, which means I've earned every bit of it the hard way.
I started WebSpore because I genuinely believe every local business deserves a great website — not just the ones with big budgets. Especially here in Fife, where there are brilliant businesses that are invisible online simply because nobody's helped them yet.
I'm hands-on with every project. You won't be handed off to anyone else. When you work with WebSpore, you work directly with me — and I don't consider a job done until you're genuinely happy.

The name has
a story behind it.
Outside of web design, I grow gourmet mushrooms on a small scale — Reishi, Cordyceps and Lion's Mane. It's a hobby that takes patience, the right conditions, and a genuine understanding of how things grow.
Spores are how mushrooms spread and grow — quietly, organically, in the right environment. It felt like the right metaphor for what I do with businesses online. Plant the right foundation, create the right conditions, and watch things grow.

I moved to Kirkcaldy from Brighton in June 2021 — drawn by the lower cost of living, the change of scenery, and honestly, just fancying something different. What I didn't expect was how much I'd fall for the place. The history, the landscape, the people. You're never more than a stone's throw from somewhere beautiful.
